Floods can be one of the most devastating natural disasters, affecting people’s lives in many ways. The flood crisis in Sylhet has brought significant challenges, particularly for women and girls who face a shortage of necessary menstrual hygiene products.
Maintaining menstrual hygiene is vital for women and girls, but it can be challenging to maintain it during a flood crisis. This is why we believe that sanitary napkins should be included in relief supplies for flood-affected areas. It is important to consider the specific needs of women and girls during such times, and the provision of sanitary napkins can make a significant difference in their lives.
To address this issue, the HITH Foundation has taken an important step by distributing sanitary napkins to women and girls in the flood-affected areas of Sylhet. We recently handed over 250 packets of sanitary napkins, containing 2000 pieces of pads, to Ms. Erina, who is working towards distributing them to those most in need.
We would like to express our gratitude to Ms. Erina for setting up such an incredible distribution program. We believe that by working together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by the flood crisis in Sylhet.
We hope that more organizations and individuals will follow our lead and take action to address the specific needs of women and girls during such difficult times. Providing sanitary napkins may seem like a small gesture, but it can have a massive impact on the lives of those in need.
We urge everyone to consider the specific needs of women and girls during natural disasters and to work towards addressing them. We believe that together, we can make a positive impact and help those who need it the most.
